This book is a great inspirational source to me. Even nowadays when you walk through any city in Japan, you will be able to spot some of these old advertisment signs. Many of these signs have really vibrant colors and very intersting use of japanese type, almost perfect to get some ideas for logo design. Published by Kokusho Kankokai, 169 pages in full color, Japanese. 日本ホーロー看板広告大図鑑―サミゾチカラ・コレクションの世界
Here is a cool campaign for the release of the Star Wars Blu-ray box in Japan. The handrails in the cars have been turned into lightsabers. It would be nice to know which line the campaign is running. There are more pictures on the Official Star Wars Blog.

The government presented the new logo for "Cool Japan" which is going to be used by agencies and corporations to promote japanese culture with emphasis on fashion, design, anime, j-pop, food etc.
The logo was created by famous designer Kashiwa Sato, who also created the well-known logo for Uniqlo.
When i have time i like to walk around the city and take pictures of Kanji, japanese lettering, logos or anything type related whenever i see something interesting. Here is a set of pictures i recently took.
The new Aventador seems bad azz and looks like a mix between the Murcielago lp640 and the Revention. I'm sure many have seen this video floating the web but its hard not to watch twice. It doesn't have much to do with Japan and you sure as hell won't be pullin these stunts around tokyo but its still a sick video worth posting. We did do a photoshoot 3 years in a row (2007 - 2009) for Kenwood car audio on both the Murcielago lp640 and the Gallardo so now I can just pray the budget comes back to do shoot on the Aventador. Below are a couple shots from the last shoot and a useless shot of me in the lp640 that we took a few years back that never got used. Boo hoo
A quick copywriting project for Dentsu Orchestra, Dentsu's in-house orchestra (Yes they are big enough to have their own Orchestra) that I finished last winter. The poster was to bring awareness and recruit the musically talented employees at the massive ad agency. The illustration of the building, recognizable to employees and tokyoites was used as the motif.
Main and alternate tag lines:
"Finally, a place where clients just listen."
"Notes and pitches, then notes and pitches."
Thanks to Fabian for taking the picture.
A nice site to find and check out asian creatives and agencies. I just came across this now for some reason although it was launched at the end of 2010. Blog FAIL
